  8.                 1. OVERVIEW
  9.

  11.     IRCIIWIN is the MS-Windows version of the IRC II client. The IRC (which
  12. means Internet Relay Chat) is the Multi-User Chatting system which became very
  13. popular and widely used bu UNIX users. 
  14.  
  15.     In the recent time there appeared IRC clients for various operating 
  16. systems (such as MacOS, MS-DOS, and so on).
  17.  
  18.     The windows versions of IRC clients I have seen do not support the 
  19. IRC II protocol, which has became sort of a standard on major IRC servers. 
  20.  
  21.     The client you see is the attempt to make the Windows compatible,
  22. user-friendly and IRC II protocol-speaking IRC client. Hope you will enjoy it.

  24.             2. THE COMMANDS UNIQUE TO THIS CLIENT
  25.  
  26. At the present time, the client has only two unique commands:
  27.     -SAVE - saves aliases to disk
  28.     -LOAD - loads aliases from disk
  29.  
  30. In the future I am going to add more commands. If you have any ideas, feel free
  31. to send me mail.
  32. NB: 
  33.     1) The UNALIAS command with no params given, erases ALL the aliases 
  34. created during the last session
  35.     2) SAVE command issued with no alias defined erases the aliases file
  36.     3) LOAD command ADDS (and not replaces) the aliases.
  37.     4) ALIAS command with no parameters lists all the aliases
  38.     5) if the file AUTOEXEC.IRC exists, it is loaded at startup if 
  39. connected to server. File AUTOEXEC.IRC should be built from the IRC commands
  40. (one command per line) and should exist in the IRCIIWIN startup directory 
  41. (where IRCIIWIN.INI and ALIASES.IRC files exist).

  43. The AUTOEXEC.IRC included in the package includes only one command : /load, 
  44. which loads aliases if they were previously saved.

  46.                 3. REGISTRATION INFO
  47.  
  48.     This program is NOT freeware, but SHAREWARE, so you can use it only
  49. for 30 days of trial period. If you decide to use it further, you must register
  50. it. The registration costs $50 for single user and $450 for site license.
  51.  
  52.     Registering will give you additional features (such as UNIGNORE command,
  53. DCC command and more comfortable interface). Registration will also disable 
  54. some unpleasant effects, such as "Please register" dialog box that appears every
  55. 10 commands.

  65.     W A R N I N G : By not registering the SHAREWARE products, you cause the
  66. people to think twice before spending hundreds of working hours and getting the
  67. headache which always accompany programming process. 8-)

  72. it and as long as the code remains COMPLETELY unchanged and this file exists in
  73. the package.
